WACO, TX — Elite Barrel Racing kicked off their "Extravaganza and Elite Futurity" event in Waco.
This makes for the first of three major events that the production puts on at the Extraco Events Center.
Racers of all ages from around the country compete against one another for the best record setting time.
Since 2010, many people have come out to admire the most entertaining horses.
"Some of the top horses in the nation show up to this event and if you're a horse enthusiast, you cannot not appreciate the beauty of being able to see such exquisite animals," said Sheriden Commings, Marketing Director at Elite Barrel Racing.
The competition is serious, but for the riders, it's all in good fun.
"Extremely though competition, but everyone's friends with each other, we enjoy being around each other every weekend and hanging out and getting to run barrels," said Katie Boyd, Barrel Racer at the event.
