WACO, TX — Lolita's has been serving Wacoans for 36 years, they knew they had to keep serving even if it was drive-thru only.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, one more restaurant is forced to close its dining room. But for owner Lolita Bergstad, she knew she had to keep serving the community.

"It's better than just locking the doors and not to be here and ya know everybody has got to pay bills," Bergstad said.

One of her focuses now is paying her bills, and making sure her employees can pay theirs. For this family, as long as they are together everything will be okay.
It was easier transition for the local Mexican food stop as they already operated with a drive-thru.

"Thank God we are in good health, Thank God, and all the customers they're still the same customers," Bergstad said.

A regular to Lolita's is Jim Navarro, he is stopping by to pick up his food almost every day. Loving their tacos, burritos and so much more, the Pandemic was not going to stop him.

"They're not going to stop me from coming, I tell them as long as their drive through is open I'm going to come and see y'all," Navarro said.

He visits the restaurant so often, Navarro considers many of them friends. As for Lolita, she will keep praying for all the business she can get and for good health to all.

"We're going to be okay, we just have to pray a lot," Lolita said.

Lolita's is open Tuesday through Friday 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
