FRANKLIN, TX — The National Weather Service confirmed during their preliminary investigation that an tornado caused significant damage.
The preliminary rating of an EF-3 was assigned to the tornado that had moved across Milam and Robertson counties.
According to the NWS, the path began in Milam County at 10:45 a.m. and crossed into Robertson County, crossing Highway 6 between Hearne and Calvert.
Peak winds were estimated at 140 mph.
The tornado followed US Highway 79 and ended near the Navasota River.
The information is preliminary and a final report is expected to be released soon.
The Robertson County Sheriff's Office said there were no fatalities from the storm.
