KILLEEN, TX — The Veterans Crisis Line in Killeen is looking for volunteers.

The organization said they are looking for volunteer crisis responders to help responding as teams in Killeen, with potential in other areas with future growth.

They said they are in need of dependable volunteers for the day, evening and overnight.

The volunteers they are looking for are active duty military, veterans, law enforcement, prior law enforcement, and counselors (student counselors, interns, - no supervisor to receive hours - and licensed).

The crisis center works with Killeen police to respond to calls involving a veteran in a mental health crisis. Police will calm the veteran, and then ask if they would like to talk to a representative from the crisis line.

If they say yes, a volunteer is called out to the location.

You can email the organization at veterancrisisline@gmail.com or call at (856) 209-8838.
