BRYAN, TX — Bryan County Police Department and Brazos County Constables responded to a vehicle crash resulting in a fire at around 11:51 a.m. Wednesday.
The accident took place near the 1600 block of East State Highway 21 at Wallis Road, according to Bryan police.
All traffic on the highway was diverted while the crash was cleared, and the roadway was shut down for around five hours.
According to the Bryan police, there were no fatalities in the crash. But two vehicles were engulfed in flames.
Police said an 18-wheeler was traveling east on the inside lane and was followed by an F-350 pickup truck. The 18-wheeler attempted a wide right turn onto Wallis Road when the F-350 passed the 18-wheeler on the right side and collided with the 18-wheeler.
The 18-wheeler had two occupants and the F-350 had one. The passenger of the 18-wheeler had minor injuries. The driver of the F-350 was issued a citation for failure to control speed.
