BRUCEVILLE-EDDY — Traffic slowed down on northbound I-35 near exit 314 in Bruceville-Eddy due to a 2-vehicle crash Monday morning.
The Department of Public Safety said that they received the call about the accident around 4:00 a.m. Initially, there was a single-vehicle accident.
They said that the driver of a Chevrolet SUV was traveling in the outside lane and for unknown reasons, suddenly changed multiple lanes and crashed into the concrete barrier.
A passerby saw the accident and pulled over into the shoulder to call for help. Then, the driver of a truck saw the vehicle in the shoulder and moved to the left lane. The truck crashed into the Chevrolet SUV that was in the roadway.
The driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The scene is now clear.
