Interstate expected to be shutdown for hours after semi overturns, spilling avocados on roadway

SALADO, TX — Interstate 35 is expected to be closed for several hours after a crash.

TxDOT said the accident happened in Salado just north of Main Street and Salado Plaza Drive.

The Bell County Constable Precinct 2 said the interstate is expected to be closed for several hours. One of the semi-trucks involved was carrying avocados.

All lanes are blocked at this time. TxDOT expects the road to be closed until about 3:45 p.m.

Traffic is being diverted to the access road.

It is unclear how many vehicles were involved or if there were any injuries.
