BELTON, TX — The Belton Police Department is asking for drivers to seek an alternative route during their commute Monday morning.
They said that there was an accident on the westbound side of I-14 at Nolanville Hill. A pedestrian was hit and killed by an 18-wheeler.
The pedestrian has been identified as 33-year-old Bryan Amaro of Killeen.
Police said that a man was walking westbound in the lane of travel. He as hit by an 18-wheeler and pronounced dead at 7:49 a.m.
DPS says the victim was not carrying identification.
The driver of the truck stopped, called police and is cooperating with the investigation.
Traffic is shut down and is being diverted off at Simmons.
