Forever Families: Meet Elizabeth

14-year-old Elizabeth is an exceptional child. She's creative, curious and has a warrior spirit.

After an adoption that didn't work out, she's back in CPS care and is putting her heart on the line to find a forever family.

We went behind-the-scenes at the Cameron Park Zoo and she got to ask all the questions she could about the animals, but her favorite are cats.

"I like cats because they are related to the Siberian Tiger, which is my spirit animal. They're loyal and creative and basically, I'm not going to leave anyone's side and I'm really creative," said Elizabeth.

Elizabeth is loyal because she has experienced the pain of people leaving but this time, she's hopeful.

"Is it tough to think about that and not get your heart broken?" asked Central Texas News Now Anchor Lindsay Liepman.

"No," she said.

"You're staying positive," said Liepman as Elizabeth nodded her head yes.

Adoption Caseworker Amanda Apperley suggests a home that provides stability, predictability and will give her the attention she deserves.

"You're such a good kid," said Liepman. "What's your biggest dream?"

"To be a fashion designer," said Elizabeth.

Elizabeth is resilient and ready for a family to love her unconditionally.

"A family of three. Me, the parents and maybe another kid. Hopefully an older sibling or maybe a younger sibling," said Elizabeth.

You can read her bio and find out more at The Heart Gallery of Central Texas, a program of Partnerships for Children.

"Forever Families" airs every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. on Central Texas News Now.
