PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. — The FBI is investigating after an underground tunnel was discovered leading to a Chase Bank near a South Florida shopping center.
The FBI was called after officials realized the sinkhole they were investigating was a tunnel of sorts.
There was a pair of muddy boots, a small homemade ladder, a stool, digging tools and a small Honda generator inside the nearly 50 foot tunnel, according to WPLG. The tunnel reportedly stretches fifty feet under a road. It starts in a wooded area and continues straight toward the drive-up window of the bank.
Pembroke Pines police turned the investigation over to the FBI.
There was no robbery at the bank and no arrests have been made at this time.
