BELTON, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s basketball player Sam Moore has been named American Southwest Conference West Division Player of the Week for the week ending January 20th. This is Moore’s second ASC player of the week honor this season.
Moore, a sophomore guard from Nixon-Smiley High School, had a huge game in leading the Cru to an 83-77 victory at Concordia Texas. He scored a game-high 31 points and hit 8-13 from three-point range. Moore also pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds and dished off five assists as UMHB became the first ASC West Division team to beat the first-place Tornados this season.
The UMHB men are 14-4 overall and have a 5-4 record in ASC play on the year. The Cru will return to action with ASC West Division games at Howard Payne and Sul Ross State this week.
