In a game that sold out the Ferrell Center, Baylor’s Lady Bears defeated the UConn Huskies.

Waco native Juicy Landrum, 11 points, started off hot, nailing her first two 3-point shot attempts and drawing a charge.

Sophomore Didi Richards kept Huskies sharpshooter Katie Lou Samuelson, 12 points, under control largely in the first half as Baylor built a lead.

Baylor center Kalani Brown added a pair of three-pointers and freshman NaLyssa Smith scored the final seven points of the first half to make it a 30-29 lead going into the break.

In the second half, Baylor continued its strong defensive presence.

Coach Kim Mulkey’s Lady Bears held UConn to less than 30 percent shooting, their worst in more than two decades.

Brown went on to rack up 20 points and 17 rebound as Baylor defeated UConn 68-57.

That ends UConn’s 126-game regular season winning streak and gives Baylor their first win in 2019.
