Kim Mulkey's message to you before Lady Bears' game against #1 UCONN Thursday

Kim Mulkey's message to you before Lady Bears' game against #1 UCONN Thursday

The Lady Bears ended 2018 with a win, but can they start 2019 the same way?

Number one ranked UCONN is coming to town.

The Lady Bears had a good warm up game against the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Monday afternoon where they "got conditioning practice after 10 or 12 days of being off."

Head Coach Kim Mulkey was concerned with the Lady Bears' shooting percentage in the second half against UTRGV, so you can bet that has been a focus of UCONN prep practices.

But, while Coach Mulkey has high expectations for her team and their big game, she also expects a lot from you.

"Geno's a legend in the game. Don't know how much longer any of us will be coaching, but Pat Summitt came to town and we gave her a standing ovation when she walked out on the floor, and I would hope that our fans would appreciate what he's done for women's basketball. I would be disappointed if we don't have as close to a sellout as possible. I saw where Cal just played them, and Cal is an up and coming program and they had over 10,000 at their game. So, hopefully it'll be a crowd like that, and we'll give them our best shot," Coach Mulkey said.

Tip off is set for 8 p.m. Thursday at the Ferrell Center.
