LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A new baby penguin was born at the Cincinnati Zoo this week, just in time to ring in 2019.
An adorable photo of the newborn penguin--who was just one day old at the time--was posted by the zoo on Dec. 28.
“Welcome to the world, little one!” the caption read.
Saturday, the zoo posted a video clip of the new baby audibly chirping.
“Listen to the cute chirps of the now two day old little penguin chick!”, the zoo posted.
On Tuesday, the zoo announced that Fiona the hippo broke the 1,000 pound milestone. Fiona made national headlines in January 2017 when she was born six weeks premature, weighing in at a scant 29 pounds.
