Killeen police said a 65-year-old man is in critical condition after he was hit by a car while crossing the street with his wife.
Police said the couple was crossing Robinett Road near the Gus Drive intersection on Thursday night when they did not yield right of way to a Honda Accord driving down the road.
The driver of the Honda told officers on scene he did not see the man prior to the impact.
The intersection at Gus Drive and Robinett Road is not well lit and does not have a marked crosswalk, police said.
The man was airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in critical but stable condition.
Police said there are no charges pending for the driver.
