University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s basketball player Sam Moore has been named American Southwest Conference West Division Player of the Week for the week ending December 10th. This is the second ASC weekly award for Moore and third for the Cru.
Moore, a sophomore from Gonzales, Texas (Nixon Smiley H.S.), helped the Cru to a pair of wins last week, averaging 24.5 points per contest. Against Texas Lutheran, Moore shot 6-11 from the field and drained a pair of three-pointers to total 16 points against the Bulldogs. He followed that with a 33-point performance against UT Dallas. Moore came off the bench to shoot 12-17 from the field, including 6-9 performance from beyond the arc. He added nine boards, six assists and five steals between the two contests.
UMHB is currently 8-1 on the season and returns to action on Saturday, December 15th in a 3p.m. contest against University of the Ozarks at the Mayborn Campus Center in Belton.
