University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s soccer senior Steven Dang was named to the United Soccer Coaches Association Scholar All-West Region Team and Scholar All-America Third Team, released Monday.
Dang, a senior nursing major from Plano, Texas (West H.S.) holds a 3.34 grade-point average as a nursing major at UMHB. He is a three-time American Southwest Conference all-academic honoree and helped his team to two USC Academic Awards. Dang was a four-year member of the UMHB Men’s Soccer Team and finished his senior season ranked sixth in the ASC in points (23) and goals (10) as a defender. He totaled three game-winning goals and secured the Cru’s second consecutive ASC title with the game-winning nod over UT Dallas.
Dang was the only American Southwest Conference athlete to earn Scholar All-Region or All-America honors.
