UMHB athletics confirmed coach Pete Fredenburg’s daughter, Kori, had a successful kidney transplant today.
Kori has had multiple problems with her kidneys, causing doctors to perform eight surgeries over the last three years.
UMHB says coach Fredenburg is not with the team today since he and his family are with his daughter in a San Antonio hospital.
The family has not said how long her recovery process will be, but Sports information director Jon Wallin said coach Fredenburg will return to the team and continue preparation for Saturday’s NCAA Semifinal game against Wisconsin Whitewater.
