The Baylor Bears will be without leading receiver Jalen Hurd in the Texas Bowl. A Baylor official confirmed the news.
Hurd injured his knee in the Bears regular season finale against Texas Tech, but finished the game. Doctors performed a minor procedure Tuesday to fix the problem.
Big 12 officials named Hurd the Big 12's offensive newcomer of the year this season. Head coach Matt Rhule said the Tennessee transfer would factor heavily into the Bears passing and rushing attack for Vanderbilt.
Hurd had more than 1100 yards from scrimmage and seven total touchdowns for Baylor this season.
The Bears will face the Commodores Dec 27 at NRG Stadium.
