In the wake of the passing of former president George H.W. Bush (41) on Friday, President Donald Trump (45) has announced that federal agencies will be closed on Dec. 5.
Trump declared Dec. 5 as a National Day of Mourning after Bush died on Friday evening at the age of 94.
The executive order issued on Dec. 1 said that agencies and departments to prepare for closing on Dec. 5.
The executive order would make Dec. 5 as an observable holiday, meaning that federal employees would not experience any interruptions in pay.
Bush will lie in state at the U.S. Capitol before a memorial service in Washington D.C. and later, in Houston. Bush will be laid to rest on Thursday, Dec. 6 on the grounds of his presidential library and museum.
