WACO, Texas – Baylor soccer added more accolades to record-breaking 2018 campaign, with four student-athletes named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region teams, announced Monday by the organization.

Senior midfielder Julie James took home a first team selection, senior defender Sarah King and sophomore goalkeeper Jennifer Wandt earned second team honors, and junior forward Camryn Wendlandt was named to the third team.

With four selections, the 2018 team matches the 1998 and 2017 squads for the most honorees to the All-Region teams in program history, previously referred to as the NSCAA All-Region.

James is the eighth first team selection in program history, also joining Dawn Greathouse (1998-2000) and Courtney Saunders (1997-1999) as the only three student-athletes to earn All-Region three times. She previously earned third team honors in 2016 and second team in 2017.

Wandt bumped up to second team honors after earning a third team selection in 2017, joining James, Greathouse, Saunders, Nikki Hales (1998-1999) and Tamura Crawley (1999-2000) as the only student-athletes in program history to earn multiple all-region honors.

Both King and Wendlandt took home their first career honors, moving Baylor’s all-time All-Region count up to 26.
