The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team finished the 2018 season ranked 16th in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll, released Tuesday. The Cru ended its 2018 campaign at 28-5 with 638 points in the poll.
UMHB won its third American Southwest Conference Volleyball Championship this season and second under head coach Rob Frost. Frost guided the Cru to its first win in an NCAA tournament as UMHB went 2-1 in NCAA Tournament play, finishing in the Sweet 16 round. UMHB ended its 2018 season with a loss to eventual national-champion Emory University.
The Eagles received 69 first-place votes and 1,746 points to secure the No. 1 spot in the poll. National Runners-Up Calvin took the second spot with 1,656 points while Juniata, Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Wittenburg rounded out the top five. UMHB was the highest-ranking school in Texas and the only American Southwest Conference school ranked in the top 25.
