BELTON, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor basketball player Brian Long has been named American Southwest Conference Men’s Basketball West Division Player of the Week for this week.
Long, a senior forward from Killeen High School, averaged 26.5 points per game over two games last week. He opened the week with 12 points in a win at Schreiner University and followed up by pouring in 41 points in the Cru’s victory at Texas Lutheran. Long shot 82 percent from the field and added five rebounds and three assists on the week.
The Cru is 2-0 on the season and will return to action with a 7 pm tip-off at Trinity University Wednesday in San Antonio. UMHB will then have ten days off before taking on Southwestern University in the home opener on November 24th.
