Baylor men’s tennis junior Constantin Frantzen and sophomore Matias Soto will compete at this weekend’s Longhorn Invitational, running Nov. 9-11 at the Texas Tennis Center in Austin.
The Baylor duo will pair up for doubles and open play against Tulane’s Tyler Schick and Tim Ruetzel at 9 a.m. CT. In singles action, Frantzen faces UCF’s Trey Hilderbrand while Soto matches up against Texas Tech’s Ilgiz Valiev at 10:30 a.m. CT.
Soto and Frantzen will compete in doubles for the second time this season, currently at 1-1 in fall action. The duo secured a 8-7(5) victory over Abilene Christian’s Sebastian Langdon and Niko Moceanu at the ITA Regionals before falling in the round of 16 to 11th-ranked Christian Sigsgaard and Harrison Scott of Texas.
In singles action, Frantzen holds a 3-2 fall record while Soto is 2-2. Both players advanced to the round of 32 at regional competition.
