Texas A&M’s Rebekah Chenelle and Ashley Davidson garnered SEC October Riders of the Month honors as the Aggies went 3-0 in the month with all three wins over ranked opponents, the conference office announced Thursday.

Chenelle was named the rider of the month in Equitation over Fences, while Davidson earned Horsemanship rider of the month honors.

Chenelle posted a 3-0 ledger in October and earned a Most Outstanding Player (MOP) distinction at then-No. 8 South Carolina. The Hebron, Conn., native opened the month with an 82-78 victory over No. 6 TCU’s Alex Beneson, and scored a season-high 87 to defeat No. 10 Fresno State’s Hana Beiling.

Davidson, who was also named the National Collegiate Equestrian Association’s Horsemanship Rider of the Month, compiled a 3-0 record and one MOP honor in October. At TCU, Davidson edged out Jamie Cook, 76-75.5, before being named MOP at South Carolina following a 76-75 win against Madison Thiel. At home against Fresno State, Davidson helped the Horsemanship squad sweep the Bulldogs as she defeated Nicole Campbell, 75-71.5.

This marks the second-consecutive month in which two Aggies were recognized by the conference office as Alex Albright (Horsemanship) and Darby Gardner (Reining) were named Riders of the Month in September.

The Aggies close out the fall slate Nov. 16 against No. 7 Georgia at the Hildebrand Equine Complex at 11 a.m. Admission to the meet is free.
