The McLennan Orange team shot 293-288 – 581 to claim the team championship of the 2018 MCC Dr Pepper Classic held Monday and Tuesday at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course. The McLennan Blue team shot 313-315 – 628 and the McLennan White team shot 336-326 – 662 to finish in fourth and fifth place, respectively.

New Mexico (299-290 – 589) and Tyler (309-300 – 609) rounded out the field, finishing in second and third place.

McLennan sophomore Matt Lorentzen shot 67-71 – 138 to claim the individual title.

Other McLennan scores: Parker Scaling, second, 71-74 – 145; Mason Mikeska, tied for fourth, 75-72 – 147; Payton Otto, tied for 16th, 77-80 – 157; Trent Leffingwell, tied for 16th, 85-72 – 157; Caden Honea, tied for 16th, 86-71 – 157; Brayden Marnell, tied for 21st, 80-80 – 160; Andrew Lane, tied for 21st, 80-80 – 160; Colin Juban, 23rd, 77-84 – 161; Austin May, 24th, 79-83 – 162; Will Fore, tied for 25th, 82-81 – 163; Arran Hastings, 27th, 83-81 – 164; Landon Plunk, 28th, 85-80 – 165; and Chase Wilson, 29th, 86-84 –170.

A trophy was also awarded for the lowest team score according to the Maxwell scoring format. Maxwell scores are calculated using the four lowest scores for each hole.

Final Maxwell standings: Abilene Christian, first, 282-283 – 565; New Mexico, second, 289-278 – 567; McLennan Orange, third, 285-283 – 568; Tyler, fourth, 298-288 – 586; McLennan Blue, fifth, 304-305 – 609; and McLennan White, sixth, 336-326 – 662.
