Baylor men’s tennis will have three Bears compete at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, running Nov. 7-11 at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Ariz.
Will Little and Sven Lah will represent the Bears in the singles draw while Lah and Jimmy Bendeck will compete in the doubles bracket.
The round of 64 opens play Wednesday morning with the championship matches wrapping up the tournament on Sunday.
In its second year, having replaced the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships is the lone event on the collegiate tennis calendar to feature competitors from all five divisions (NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and JUCO) playing in the same tournament.
Men’s and women’s singles champions will receive main draw wildcards into a 2019 Oracle Challenger Series tournament.
In singles, Little leads the Bears with a 6-2 singles record while Lah holds a 7-4 record. Little advanced to the round of 32 while Lah competed in the round of 16 at last month’s ITA Regionals.
In doubles, Bendeck and Lah look to build on their current 11-match winning streak. Currently 5-0 against ranked opponents, the duo earned an automatic spot in this week’s tournament by winning the ITA All-American Championships last month.
