UMHB Men’s Soccer to face Southwestern in NCAA First Round

BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team will make a familiar trip to San Antonio for the First Round of the NCAA Division III National Championships. UMHB won the program's second American Southwest Conference title and automatic bid to the national tournament.
 
The Cru will face Southwestern University in the First Round of the NCAA Regional on Saturday, November 10th at 7:30 p.m. Trinity University earned the right to host a First Round regional and will face Chapman on Saturday, November 10th. Winners of those matches will advance to play each other on Sunday, November 11th.
 
Head Coach Brad Bankhead guided the Cru to its second consecutive ASC championship season and third appearance in the NCAA tournament this season.
 
“Anytime you get to keep playing is a good feeling,” Bankhead said. “I am really proud of our season and where we are headed.”
 
Southwestern earned an at-large bid to the tournament after falling in penalty kicks to Trinity in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Pirates are currently 12-5-3 on the season and making their first appearance in an NCAA Tournament. Trinity won their seventh consecutive SCAC title to earn an automatic bid to the tournament while Chapman University gains entrance with the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title. 

 
UMHB is currently 15-3-1 on the season and goes into the tournament on a five-game win-streak. The Cru earned a 1-0 win over UT Dallas to take the 2018 ASC title and bid to the postseason. Ticket prices are $6 general admission, $3 students and seniors and $2 for children aged 3-12.
