Texas A&M junior Ashley Davidson was named the Shorty’s National Collegiate Equestrian Association’s Horsemanship Rider of the Month, the NCEA selection committee announced Wednesday.
In the month of October, Davidson compiled a 3-0 record and one Most Outstanding Player honor as the Aggies defeated three ranked teams with two tightly-contested road victories.
In the first meet of the month at No. 6 TCU, Davidson edged out Jamie Cook, 76-75.5, before being named MOP at No. 8 South Carolina following a 76-75 win against Madison Thiel. At home against No. 10 Fresno State, Davidson helped the Horsemanship squad sweep the Bulldogs as she defeated Nicole Campbell, 75-71.5.
Davidson and the Aggies return to action at No. 1 Auburn on Friday, Nov. 2. The meet is slated to begin at 3 p.m. at the Auburn University Horse Center.
