The Greater Waco Chamber held a State of the City and County Luncheon at Ridgewood Country Club.

This was the first in the Chamber’s State of Luncheon Series. City of Waco Mayor, Kyle Deaver, and McLennan County Judge, Scott Felton, gave a report on the city and county.

They discussed projects and events that have taken place over the last year and what residents can expect in 2019.

“I think that what we should expect to see street work being done all over the place in addition to all of the infrastructure that we have talked about. And I think they will start to see the development that we’ve talked about along the river on both sides. On the MLK side and also on the University Parks side,” said Deaver.

The chamber will continue its state of luncheon series with a State of Public Education luncheon on Nov. 7 that will include an update on statewide progress and challenges to public education from Commissioner of Education, Mike Morath.

The State of the State Luncheon on Nov. 28 will feature the Chamber’s State Legislative Agenda for the Texas 86th Legislative Session. U.S. Representative Bill Flores and Ron Eidshaug with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce will speak at the State of the Nation Luncheon that is held on Dec. 3.

Information to register for any of these events can be found at the chamber’s website.
