Texas A&M softball Opens Fall Slate Against Blinn Tuesday

COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M softball team opens the fall season with a doubleheader Tuesday against Blinn at Davis Diamond. Game one is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start, while game two is slated for 6 p.m.

Admission to both games is free.

The Aggies, who return 10 letterwinners from last season's team, are coming off a 44-18 season and back-to-back NCAA Super Regional appearances.

Sarah Hudek returns after pacing the Maroon & White last season with a .363 average and 14 doubles. The left-handed hitter added eight home runs and 33 RBI. The lone senior on the team, Riley Sartain belted 11 home runs and drove in 36 runs last year.

In the circle, Payton McBride (3-0, 1.89 ERA) and Kayla Poynter (1-3, 3.84 ERA) return as the Aggies added transfer Kendall Potts, who registered a career record of 21-4 while at Baylor.

Blinn finished the 2018 season with a 32-18 record and an 18-6 ledger in conference. The Buccaneers won two games in the NJCAA Region XIV Tournament.
