Police release photos of skimmer suspects in Waco area

A suspect in a recent string of credit card skimmers has been arrested.

Woodway police officers released photos of suspects in a string of credit card skimmers used around the Waco area.

Police said the suspects appeared to be working in pairs and are spending time at bank ATM machines using reproduced debit cards and stolen pins.

On Oct. 31, Woodway and Houston police connected another incident in the Houston area. 23-year-old Stefan Banica was arrested at a Houston ATM where he was attempting to withdraw money with a cloned debit card.

Banica was found with over 140 cloned debit cards in his possession.

Banica was arrested and charged with engaging in organized crime.

The investigation to identify Banica's co-conspirators and links to other cases in the county and state is ongoing.
