Temple College Softball is sporting some new bling as of Monday night.

The Leopards finally received their rings after winning the 2018 NJCAA Division I National Championship.

Head Coach Kristen Zaleski said her team had to overcome numerous obstacles last year in order to become only the second team in the State of Texas to receive such an honor.

"This is everything I've ever worked for, from the time I was little to like now.  And like every, every practice, every conditioning test, every just every obstacle put in our way, we have completely just surpassed it and we've accomplished the biggest goal ever. and it's an incredible feeling and just now it's hitting me cause i get my ring," Kristen Grothues, former Temple College outfielder said. "It's better than a trophy because i get to wear it and i mean it just means so much like we always say like ring season and like there's even a song called big rings like this is like the biggest accomplishment ever."

The Mayor of Temple, Tim Davis, issued a proclamation, and Representative Hugh Shine made a special presentation to round out the ceremony.
