Aggie men's tennis to compete at ITA regional in Waco

Texas A&M men’s tennis will be represented by eight singles players and four doubles teams at the ITA DI Texas Men’s Regional Championships at the Hurd Tennis Center beginning Friday.

The Aggies are joined by players from Abilene Christian, Baylor, Incarnate Word, Lamar, Rice, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, UT Arlington, UTSA and UTRGV. Play is scheduled to begin Friday with the championship matches taking place on Monday.

Freshmen Austin Abbrat, Pranav Kumar, Guido Marson, Jack Pulliam, Noah Schachter and Alex Vedri along with sophomore Barnaby Smith and senior Kevin Lam will represent Texas A&M in Waco.

A season ago the Maroon & White hosted the Texas Regional that saw Lam and Jordi Arconada fall in the doubles final after defeating four tandems from across the state of Texas. Additionally, Lam claimed the singles consolation title with wins over players from SMU, UT Arlington, Lamar, SMU and Texas Tech.

The ITA Regional Championships feature some of the top men's and women's players across the country. Over 8,000 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges compete across 85 ITA Regional Championships around the country. In Division I, regional doubles champions and regional singles champions and finalists qualify for the season-ending Oracle ITA National Fall Championships in Surprise, Ari.
