University of Mary Hardin-Baylor libero Haleigh Evans was named the American Southwest Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 14th. This is Evans’ second Player of the Week award this season.
A junior from Edna, Texas (Edna H.S.), Evans averaged 6.7 digs per set over four matches last week. She opened with 20 digs against division-opponent McMurry, then pulled up 21 digs against No. 17 UT Tyler. Evans’ week-high performance came against LeTourneau where she recorded 30 digs. She ended with a total of 87 over 13 sets, adding three assists and three service aces.
UMHB returns to action on Tuesday, October 16th in a 6 p.m. match at Austin College in Sherman.
