WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Texas A&M freshman placekicker Seth Small, who drilled four field goals and two extra points in the Aggies’ 26-23 win at South Carolina, was named a Lou Groza Award Star of the Week, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission announced Monday.
Small opened scoring in the game with a 52-yard boot, tying his career long set at No. 1 Alabama earlier this season.
As time expired in the first half, the Katy, Texas, native chipped in a 20-yarder to give the Aggies a 13-0 lead.
In the third quarter, Small nailed a 32-yarder before breaking the 16-16 tie with 9:16 remaining in the fourth with a clutch 39-yard boot.
Small, who is filling in for 2017 Groza Award semifinalist Daniel LaCamera, is second on the team in scoring with 45 points. On the season, Small is 10-for-14 on field goals and a perfect 15-for-15 on extra points.
