The Baylor Bears lost a nail-biter to the #9 Texas Longhorns Saturday.

The Bears started off the first half showing strength defensively, holding the Longhorns to a field goal on the opening drive.

First time out for the Bears and Charlie Brewer leads his team down and in connecting with Denzel Mims for six.

The Longhorns responded with another field goal by Dicker to cut Baylor's lead to one.

Connor Martin hits a 46-yard field goal for the Bears to get Baylor to 10.

But, Texas came out fighting back. The Longhorns found the end zone two more times before the end of the first half. Collin Johnson went long and caught a deep ball for six, and Lil'Jordan Humphrey checked in and ran Wildcat for another Texas touchdown.

Then the Longhorns finished the half the way they started it. Dicker nailed another field goal and went into the locker room up 23-10.

In the third quarter, Brewer had a quick handoff to Jalen Hurd in the backfield who powered it in for the Bears touchdown to bring Baylor back within six.

The Bears had a chance to win the game in the final minute, but they just couldn’t connect for the touchdown. Most of Brewer’s passes went high and out of the back of the end zone.

Baylor lost a heartbreaker in Austin 23-17.
