GOTW Preview: Lorena using loss to refocus for Robinson

Teams never want to lose a game, but after Lorena dropped a tight contest to Connally, the Leopards took a look in the mirror.

"It was a big loss. I think that got the guys to get their heads on straight. It got them knowing that we're beatable," said senior defensive back Cade Michna.

Connally was able to exploit the Leopards through the air, something Lorena coach Ray Biles said they studied on film extensively.

"We talked about it Saturday. We can either wallow in this, or use it to get better," said Biles, "We can lose now and be okay. You lose week 12, 13, or 14 and you're going home."

Playoffs look to be where Lorena is headed after being a top five ranked team all year long, but where Connally surprised them with passing, Robinson is much more effective.

"They run a lot of RPOs (Run, pass option) over there," added Biles, "It's a different look, but once the ball is snapped its all football."

Biles says he has confidence his veteran team will make the adjustments needed to win a big rivalry game.

"We were one and six a year ago and then ran off a streak at the end, to get in the playoffs and everything. These guys have had their backs against the wall before. They played and performed well. I have no doubt that they are going to step up to the task this time as well."

We'll find out if coach is right Friday night at 7:30 in Lorena.
