Playing with a different lineup for the second-straight match, No. 24 Baylor volleyball (11-6, 3-3 Big 12) stormed past TCU (11-6, 3-3 Big 12) Wednesday night at the Ferrell Center, 18-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-17.

Shelly Fanning matched a career-high 18 kills to lead all players while Bri Coleman set a career-high 11 putaways. Three other Bears posted at least seven kills in Gia Milana, Jaelyn Jackson and Marieke van der Mark.

Baylor held the Big 12’s leader in service aces to one in four sets after the Horned Frogs came into the match averaging 1.37 per set.

Baylor got off to the slow start offensively but used back-to-back kills from Ashley to pull within one at 13-12. TCU’s Anna Walsh posted eight kills while Fanning posted six in the frame, but TCU would take it, 25-18.

Baylor grabbed a 9-8 lead after a block from Jackson and Coleman, and Tara Wulf made it a 16-12 advantage with the team’s first service ace of the match. The Bears closed out the set on a 4-1 run to even up the match, 25-19.

BU jumped out to the commanding 11-4 lead after a kill from Coleman and never looked back. The Baylor defense held TCU to a .000 attack effort to take the advantage after set three, 25-15.

The momentum stayed on the Bears’ side after a Fanning and Fritcher block pushed the lead to 10-2. Shelly Fanning racked up five more kills as she helped Baylor hit a match-high .429 in the fourth set to close it out, 25-17.
