Baylor looks to tackle top ten Texas

The Bears found the win column over the weekend, but they have a big test this week as they head down to Austin to take on the 9 Texas Longhorns.

Baylor only had two penalties in their win over Kansas State, and they're looking to keep up such discipline down at DKR in hopes to beat a top ten Texas.

Head Coach Matt Rhule said the Bears will stick to a simple game plan because the Longhorns do more on defense than any other team they'll see.

Rhule recognizes Texas' confidence coming into this game having just knocked off Oklahoma. But, he feels as though his team has reason to be confident, too.

The Bears are starting to see wins on tape and no longer being forced to just believe they're capable of winning.

"We have to make sure that our guys are confident in what we're doing and just try to go out there and play a good, clean football game. Play well and that starts with practice. Hope that on defense, we just don't give up the explosives and we make it be a battle, a battle of field position.. make them have to move the football, long drives. Don't let it be just 60, 70, 80 yard plays," Coach Rhule said.

Coach Rhule believes the Bears' best football is ahead of them, and if his team plays well, they'll have a chance at a lot of ball games.

Their next chance to prove that is 2:30 p.m. Saturday down in Austin.
