The Texas Department of Transportation will begin a project to widen a portion of State Highway 36 in Bell and Coryell County on Monday.
The project is designed to increase safety on the highway. Workers will resurface and widen 11 miles of the roadway from FM 931 at Flatm eat of Gatesville.
They will also add intermittent passing lanes.
The project is being undertaken by Big Creek Construction in Hewitt and will cost $1.1 million. It is scheduled to be completed by the Spring of 2020.
