Baylor's offense found a rhythm in the second half, but Oklahoma scored at will to keep the Bears well out of range
Baylor went into Norman as a heavy underdog and for the first half, they looked the part.
Sooners quarterback Kyler Murray didn't start the game due to a team rules violation, so the Bears were able to hold starter Austin Kendall to a quick punt.
It just happened that Baylor muffed that punt, Oklahoma recovered, put in Kyler Murray and scored quickly.
The Bears started Charlie Brewer at quarterback, but penalties marred his first series. Oklahoma recovered quickly and another Murray touchdown pass put them up 14-0.
Brewer and the Bears quickly battled back as the Sophomore got the offense to the red zone before finding wideout Denzel Mims for the Bears lone touchdown of the first. The Green and Gold did piss the extra point making it 14-6.
Murray would lead the Sooners offense to two more scores while Baylor even went to quarterback Jalen McClendon looking for answers. McClendan's lone drive would end in a punt as well.
Right before the break, Brewer drove the Bears deep into Sooners territory battling the clock before kicker Drew Galitz split the uprights with no time remaining in the half. Baylor went into the locker room down 28-9 at intermission.
Baylor came out in the second half and scored on their first two drives. First was a goal-line pitch to Jalen Hurd and the second was a quarterback sneak by Brewer.
The defense though was shredded by Oklahoma for two touchdowns for 50+ yards and another score to put OU ahead 49-23 in the 4th quarter.
Baylor would go on to score a field goal and a Brewer to Hurd touchdown, but that would do little to stop the flood of Sooner points.
Oklahoma would go on to win 66 to 33. Next up for Baylor is a home contest against Kansas State
