"I am excited to get the regular season underway," head coach Tana McKay said. "We have practiced really hard and had a great scrimmage last week. Oklahoma State is a tough team to face every year, so it is exciting to start the season off against great competition."
The Aggies, who are coming off a semifinal appearance at the NCEA Championship last season, return 11 starters from a year ago, including All-Americans Rebekah Chenelle (Fences & Flat), Caroline Dance (Fences), Ashley Davidson (Horsemanship) and Kalee McCann (Reining) as well as SEC Co-Freshman Horsemanship Rider of the Year, Alex Albright.
Last season, the two teams squared off in Stillwater, Okla., as the Cowgirls edged out the Aggies, 10-8. Friday’s competition will be the 23rd meet in series history as Texas A&M owns a 13-9 advantage.
Fans in attendance can stop by the marketing table at the front entrance and pick up a free schedule poster. The first 50 fans will also receive a free Texas A&M horse stress ball.
