Almost one pound of fur removed from rescued dog

Posted

A dog rescued in Harker Heights underwent a transformation and will be looking for her new home soon.

The Harker Heights Pet Adoption Center posted the picture of a dog picked up in a church parking lot.

The dog was covered with a large amount of fur covering her entire body. The dog was unable to walk due to the amount of fur around her belly and legs.

The center said that almost an entire pound of matted fur was removed.

A microchip was found and told center officials that the dog was an 11-year-old Shih Tzu. The previous owner had told officials that she had rehomed the dog several years prior.

Wee Rescue Inc is currently fostering the dog and will be up for adoption once she is checked out and ready.
