21st-ranked Baylor volleyball (9-5, 1-2 Big 12) couldn’t overcome a season-high 14 service errors in a three-set loss to fourth-ranked Texas Wednesday night at Gregory Gymnasium, 25-23, 25-16, 25-15.
Yossiana Pressley paced all players with 11 kills while Gia Milana and Aniah Philo contributed eight each.
The Bears committed a season-high 14 service errors and the most since BU’s 2017 season opener against Florida State (16).
Baylor hopped out to a 17-13 lead after a kill from Philo, but Texas took the opening set after BU committed eight service errors and then an attack error at set point, 25-23.
BU and UT (7-3, 2-0 Big 12) battled it out to open the second frame, but four straight points for the Longhorns prompted a BU timeout at 9-4. Baylor couldn’t cut at the lead to drop set two, 25-16.
Baylor struggled offensively in the third frame, hitting -.026 to drop the final set, 25-15.
