University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s volleyball player Miranda Klein was named American Southwest Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending September 25th.
Klein, a junior from Georgetown, Texas (East View H.S.), led the Cru to a 4-0 week with sweeps over Hardin-Simmons, Belhaven and Louisiana College. She totaled 42 digs over 14 sets, averaging 3.0 digs per set. Klein also added 15 blocks and hit .270 on the week with 34 kills. She added 46 assists and six service aces. Klein recorded a triple-double in UMHB’s 3-2 win over UT Dallas and led the Cru with 22 digs.
McMurry’s Justice McGowan earned West Division Offensive honors while UT Tyler’s Kaitlyn Budisalovich and UT Dallas’ Lauren Schilling earned East Division awards. UMHB returns to action on Tuesday, September 25th in a 6 p.m. match at McMurry University in Abilene.
