The Cru is coming home: 2018 home opener set for Saturday night

The Cru won big on the road again this weekend beating Texas Lutheran 47-14.

Head Coach Pete Fredenburg credits the lack of "UMHB type scoring" to road weariness and bad snaps.

Coach Fredenburg was disappointed in the offensive consistency, and said across the board his team realizes they need to take care of business, work to get better and not just go through the motions.

Fredenburg also said he wishes the Cru would've played more guys this past Saturday, especially since they were up by 30 at half. He would've liked to see second string guys get game reps in.

Coach Fredenburg specifically said he would like to get in two offensive and defensive lines each game.

So, expect to see that in this week's game against what is becoming a rivalry with Southwestern out of Georgetown.

"Southwestern's good. I mean they run a, they do things so different, it creates issues for you. I think that they play hard, and they do all the things, that they run a different type of offense and different type of defense... it gives them a little advantage," Coach Fredenburg said. "They will give us a tremendous effort, but I also think that you're gonna see a tremendous effort from us, too... being home and then also just kind of having the... being ready to really execute our offense and defense."

Next Saturday's game will be in Belton with a 6 p.m. kick off.

This will also be Coach Fredenburg's first game back after his school-mandated three game suspension.
