The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s golf team will host 18 of the country’s best women’s golf programs when the Cru serves as host of the DIII National Preview next Monday and Tuesday in Houston. The tournament will be played at Bay Oaks Country Club, the site of next spring’s National Championship.
UMHB will be joined in the field by defending national champion Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and six other teams who played in last year’s national tournament. Southwestern University and Trinity University will also participate, along with an individual from U.T.-Dallas, one individual from Trinity and three from the Cru to give the state of Texas three teams and five individuals competing in the tournament.
The two-day, 36-hole event will be played on a par-72, 5,871-yard layout at Bay Oaks. Teams will begin teeing off for Monday’s first round with tee times starting at 9 am. Live scoring of the tournament will be available on Golfstat.com throughout the event.
Bay Oaks will serve as the site of the 2019 NCAA Division III Women’s Golf National Championship. That tournament will be played May 14-17 with UMHB sharing hosting duties with the Harris County Sports Association.
