Baylor Head Coach Matt Rhule didn't mince words about the loss to Duke.
"If we could combine the run game with the play makers outside, I think we'd have something special on offense. Defensively, we haven't stopped the run at the level we wanted to yet but a lot of that was on the offense this past game," Coach Rhule said.
For the offense to allow the defense time to rest, Baylor will have to run the ball.
But, Baylor hasn't been able to nail down their five starting offensive linemen yet due to injury.
The mash up of starters has led to two straight games where a Baylor running back has yet to break 50 yards on the ground.
Add that to a receiving corps that dropped a lot of balls on Saturday, and Coach Rhule said everyone has to get better.
"It starts up front with the offensive line. We have to all more runs. We have to give our backs more chances. Cause at the end of the day you are responsible for what you do. You are responsible for your grades. How do you get good grades? You study. How do you catch balls? You go after practice and catch a thousand balls for the one you get in the game. And so, why do we have games like this? Sometimes its to reinforce that message," Coach Rhule added.
Baylor will need to find their rhythm to beat a much improved Kansas team on Saturday.
