The Cru looks past speed, athleticism and aims to tighten up the offense

The Cru was dominate in week two as they opened up conference play on the road beating Sul Ross State 68-7.

Head Coach Pete Fredenburg still isn't pleased with the work of his offensive line though. He feels as though they are hesitant.

But, he thinks it might come down to coaching and asking too much of those guys.

The Cru are blessed with an incredible amount of team speed, but as Coach Fredenburg said, speed and athleticism can hide a lot of bad things.

Regardless, last Saturday, that speed showed up to play. Three of UMHB's running backs put up more than 100 yards rushing, and overall, the Cru had 690 yards of offense.

But, Coach Fredenburg said there is always room for improvement.

"We really gotta establish what we want to hang our hat on offensively. We still run a lot of power, iso, some option and throw what we call RPOs, run pass options, and I think we're still growing in that respect," Coach Fredenburg said.

The Cru will wrap up their three-game road trip Saturday as they head out to Seguin, Texas to take on Texas Lutheran. Kick off is set for 6 p.m.
